Week 1 News & Homework

GATOR Binder Info

GATOR Binder Rules

·       Take care of your GATOR binder; it will be used all year!

·       Take your GATOR binder home everyday and bring it back each morning! Don’t leave it at home or on the bus.

·       Keep your GATOR binder clean - do not eat or drink near your GATOR.

·       Show your GATOR binder to your parents every day. They will be proud of your new responsibility.

·       Clean out the back pocket or graded work section each weekend.

·       Only keep required info and paperwork in your GATOR - no extras. Notebook paper and other materials are available at all times in the classroom.

·       Don’t let anyone remove pages or borrow your GATOR binder.

·       Please don’t mark on or inside your GATOR binder. NO STICKERS!

·       If your GATOR becomes damaged or goes missing, it must be replaced as quickly as possible. We had you bring a 1 1/2 inch binder that we will use to replace our worn binders in December.

What’s inside my GATOR binder?

Front Pocket                  Information from the office.

Home/ School Section       This is where you will find your weekly newsletter and homework sheet. Progress reports and other important information will also be placed here.

Subject Tabs (3)              These sections are reserved for artifacts and other handouts in the three subject areas: ELA (English), Science, and Social Studies.  The purpose of having these in your binder is to have material to study for assessments, as there are no textbooks for third graders.

Graded Papers                Here you’ll find weekly graded papers and a folder log. Papers are sent home every Friday. We ask that you clean out this section weekly and sign the folder log. This helps us ensure that you are aware of your child’s weekly progress.

Thank You!
We’re off to a great start! We appreciate your generosity in getting the supplies needed to make things run smoothly. If you haven’t yet sent in supplies, please do so as soon as possible.

Now that we’ve gotten to know each other, we will get down to business beginning next week. You will find our weekly homework below.
