About Mrs. Scott

Hello! My name is Tamara Scott and I will be teaching your child math and writing this year. As a child, math was very challenging. Throughout this year, my goal is for each child to find a love for math and feel confident about their problem solving skills. I have always loved writing and hope to share that adoration with your child this year.

My hometown is Summerville, Georgia. I graduated from Chattooga High School in 1998 and became an alumna of Reinhardt College in 2002. After graduating from college with a degree in Early Childhood Education, I taught 3rd grade at Ellijay Elementary for my first two years. At the same time, I met my future husband and we were married in December of 2004. During this life-changing event, I had also started my teaching career at Gilbert Elementary in 3rd grade. This year will be my 14th year in this grade level.

In 2004, I was blessed with my son, Chandler. He will be a 2nd grader this year as a Gilbert Gator. In April of 2014, our family expanded as we welcomed my daughter Lillian. This one year old princess keeps us on our toes!

I am looking forward to setting goals this year and witnessing each child rise to their potential. Math and writing are tools that are used everyday in our daily tasks, and I am honored to prepare your child for that future.
