Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school! It's great to be back. I can't wait to see you all. It's been a long break!

We are halfway through our year together. We have 90 days of school left and lots to learn. We will be using this three-day week to re-establish routines and procedures in and out of the classroom. There will not be assigned spelling words or word wall words for this week.

Speaking of word wall words, your child should be able to read at least 110 sight words at this point in the year. First graders are expected to recognize with automaticity (read within 3 seconds) all 220 Dolch sight words by year's end. I will be sending home the entire list with those students who have not yet mastered the 220. This will be for your use at home. Students will only be required to read 10 words per week as part of our assessment program.
