Aquarium Trip was a BLAST!

Today was our final field trip of the 2007-2008 school year. The Tennessee Aquarium was AWESOME!  I must brag on my class. They were great today. Everyone was well behaved and made me proud! One Aquarium volunteer commented on how well-behaved our students were! Way to go, Gilbert Gators!

We would also like to thank our parent chaperones. We could not have had such a wonderful time without you! So, our heartfelt thanks go out to Mrs. Weed, Mr. & Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Helton, and Mr. Killian!

Mr. Tipton also went with us! Thanks, Mr. T. for taking time out to join us for our trip!

Would you like to be a STAR? Gilbert Elementary will hold it's annual talent show on May 19 (tentative date). Can you dance? Sing? Auditions for first graders will be on Friday, May 16. If your child is interested, please let me know so I can send a registration form home.

Tomorrow is a FIELD TRIP!

Tomorrow is the first of our first grade field trips! We will travel to the beautiful Tivoli Theatre in downtown Chattanooga to see the Princess and the Pea. Will Princess Eartha end up with the handsome Prince?

Field Trip Reminder

All field trip money is due by Friday of this week. We have to turn in final counts for the Aquarium trip. If I do not have parent money turned in by Friday, you will have to pay the full admission price and go through the gates separate from us.

No Homework!

Due to CRCT testing this week, we will not have homework. Yes, that's right, no homework! We'll pick up with spelling words, sight words, and reading passages next week. Just be sure that you are prepared for the CRCT each day by getting a good night's sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and wearing comfortable clothes. Be on time! Testing begins promptly at 8 a.m.

Penguins are awesome!
We will attend a special penguin show when we visit the Aquarium on April 28th!
